Overall Description:
The Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Unit at Bellevue Hospital Center is a 22-bed adult inpatient unit for acute rehabilitation. Patients who are admitted to the TBI Unit are victims of cerebral trauma secondary to motor vehicle accidents, assaults, or falls that have caused different degrees of damage to the brain. Occasionally, patients with intracranial tumors, cerebrovascular diseases (i.e., stroke) and degenerative disorders that can seriously affect the functions of the brain are also admitted.

While working in the TBI Unit, fellows have the chance to tailor their experience based on their own interests and knowledge while working independently.
