Social Cognition is often neglected in formal neuropsychological testing and may not be a focus in our interviews or observation, but extreme cases of disorder in this important dimension of human function alert us to the possibility of sublter deficits in other patients and to our need to understand their development, underlying brain mechanisms and varied expression in a variety of cognitive and behavioral phenomena. This conference presents the latest research findings and clinical paractice in the assessment and treatment of autistic spectrum disorders, including research from pharmacology and neuroimaging, as well as neuro-psychological perspectives on diagnosis and treatment.
